On Friday, August 23, Toneelgroep Maastricht opened the 29th edition of the Cultura Nova theater festival in Heerlen (nl) with the grand open-air show 'Romeo & Juliet' on the festival square. Directed by artistic director Servé Hermans, spectators are surprised with a modern version of Shakespeare's timeless story about young and tragic love filled with music. In the performance live operetta (with a 100 man choir) alternates with a contemporary soundtrack that I composed. The combination of classic and contemporary worked remarkably well. The performance ended with fireworks that were in sync with my music. site
